Pakistan will tour Bangladesh in Dec-Jan: PCB
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the national cricket team will go to Bangladesh in December-January for a full-fledged tour. "The tour is part of the future tour program and we will be playing Tests, ODIs and T20 matches on the tour to Bangladesh," a senior official of the PCB said. Relations between the Pakistan and Bangladesh boards turned sour after the militants attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in March 2009. After the attack, the Bangladesh board withdrew an invitation to host the Pakistan team for a One-day series and later did not support them when the ICC moved the World Cup matches from Pakistan on security grounds. The Chairman of the Pakistan Board, Ijaz Butt did not take kindly to Bangladesh refusing to host Pakistan for the ODI series and not supporting them in their bid to keep their World Cup matches at home. In a documented incident, Butt had an exchange of words with officials of the Bangladesh board during and after a ICC meeting at which it was ultimately decided that Pakistan would not host any World Cup matches. But sources confirmed that the Bangladesh board had been striving to break the ice and normalise relations for some months now. "The series that will begin in December has given a good opportunity for both boards to normalise relations and remove misunderstandings," one source said. A PCB official, who declined to be named, said Pakistan would tour Bangladesh after they play Sri Lanka in a full series in October-November, either at home or at a neutral venue. "We are due to tour Bangladesh and we will do that as it is an important one for both the countries," the official said. Bangladesh and Pakistan last played a bilateral series in early 2008 when Bangladesh toured for a One-day series. The official said that immediately after the tour to Bangladesh, Pakistan team is also due to tour India under the FTP to play a full Test series. "As far as PCB is concerned both tours are on," the official said.
Zulqarnain threatening calls traced: Malik
Talking to media men here at Parliament House, the Interior Minister said he had also talked to Zulqarnain Haider who had moved to Britain after, what the cricketer claimed, receiving threatening phone calls.
Rehman Malik assured that Zulqarnain Haider would be provided complete security.
To a question, he said a bomb was placed underneath a table in Rami Club in Lyari area of Karachi and that investigation into the incident would soon be completed.

Team afridi's first task is series with westindians.Both teams have a lot of youngsters featuring for first time in international cricket ,above all the unpredictibilty is in common,so theseboth volatile elements will make the upcoming series very absorbing contest.WCB(westindies cricket bard) has been having contract wrangles with sponsers and their financial crisis is another challenge for them.Though the absence of few senior palyers like chris gyle,chander paul,sarwan,pollard is qiute disappoing factor for lovers of WI cricket but its the time for WI to give chances to young blood to take the responsibility and fell the pressure of the game.
Looking at the current pak side,they are cosidered as favourites for only t20 and odi series but beating WI in their own grounds is not easy job.pcb has been make many tangible changes in the squad after world cup by 'resting' some senior players and including new youngsters like slahuddin,hammad azam and saddaf hussain.Pak have a great balanced side with hafeez and shahzad opening and asad,hammad,umar akmal in middle order,with superb slow bowling department make pak team a balanced side.Fast bowling has always been an asset for pak crickters.Ravi shastri saying ''in pakistan fast bowlers are born on trees,if you shake a tree,many will fall to pick for the team''is quite quotable.Its a great sign that pcb has encouraged shahid afridi as captain and retained his job after world cup.Afridi is very passionate,loyal and very unconvetional skipper who has good off field relations with youngsters which earn him the respect within team.He is the senior of the lot and its his responsibilty to put pak team at the stage from where they can excel to glory
