President of Pakistan and Patron–in-chief of Pakistan Cricket Board has ended all the rumours of any changes in board management and said that there is no need to change board officials.
While talking exclusively to The Sports Encounter scribe here at Islamabad Zardari said that “I have no plan to change chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ejaz Butt and there is no need to change him as he is doing pretty good job.”
It is important to mention here that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani was due to meet President Zardari on recent scandals in Pakistan cricket team and in PCB but Zardari statement ended all the speculations on Butt’s future.
On replying to the question on poor management and mishandling of the issues by PCB chairman, Zardari said “every time when our team lost the match, people started to point out the fingers on board but when Pakistan team won, these people praised the performance of the team.”
International Cricket Council (ICC) had suspended three Pakistani players on allegations of spot fixing and also issued warning to PCB to eliminate the corruption in Pakistan cricket and formed the ICC special task team which known as Pakistan Task Team (PTT) to chalk out the plans and measures needed to implement in Pakistan cricket to curb corruption
