“We have asked them to submit documents declaring their assets and bank details by December 30, in order to be considered for selection in the preliminary squad,” the newly-appointed COO told APP.
Ahmed said the pair had failed to comply with the conditions laid down by the board and were yet to submit the required documents.
Limited-overs captain Shahid Afridi has been vocal in favouring Malik and Kamran Akmal’s selection in Pakistan’s World Cup squad.
“They (Malik and Akmal) are requirements of the team,” Afridi said earlier this month.
Earlier, both players denied receiving instructions from the board to submit details of their property and bank accounts.
Meanwhile, Ahmed, along with other top officials of the board was part of a meeting held at the National Stadium Karachi.
