No UDRS in Pakistan, New Zealand series

AUCKLAND: The Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS) will not be used in Pakistan cricket team’s tour of New Zealand.
The UDRS is in doubt after a lack of commitment from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
A lack of commitment from the ICC is putting the future of DRS in doubt.
Originally designed for broadcasting, graphics provided by the New Zealand Company Animation Research are now an important piece of system that often decides the fate of Test match batsmen.
Animation Research managing director Ian Taylor on Monday said they had to pour quarter of a million dollars into upgrading the system for the Ashes.
He added that was a huge investment that didn’t need to be made.
Taylor did not believe broadcaster needed that level of technology because they didn’t decide matches.
He said it was not worth investing any more money until ICC decide to use the system for all games.
